Tax Analyst - Maternity Cover - Dublin City Centre

Our client is a leading international bank that provides fund administration, custody, and trustee services to global investment managers. Located in Dublin and on a hybrid model. Only a short walk from public transport, including Dublin Bus, DART and Luas.
Your new role
The Tax Analyst is a trainee professional role. Requires a good knowledge of the range of processes, procedures and systems to be used in carrying out assigned tasks and a basic understanding of the underlying concepts and principles upon which the job is based.
You will be responsible for the below but not limited to:
- Act as a tax information reporting specialist to execute operational and project initiatives.
- Develop best practices and implement appropriate procedures and controls to ensure consistent compliance with Information Reporting, FATCA, and/or CRS requirements.
- Execute functions from the Tax Information Reporting process tree including, but not limited to, tax form validation, withholding, information reporting, legal entity maintenance, and governance.
- Support Tax Information Reporting Service Delivery model with all stakeholders.
- Support audits by tax authorities and Internal Audit.
- Support technology projects from a tax technical perspective.
- Assist with Regulatory Reporting requirements across FATCA, CRS, 1099 and 1042 as required.
- First point of contact for queries relating to the above and escalating to senior team members when required.
What you'll need to succeed
The successful individual should have the following:
- Two to three years’ practical experience in an operations tax/asset servicing environment.
- Familiarity with securities operations and workflows (Back-Office and Middle-Office) along with Knowledge of the supported/related business areas (Equities, Fixed Income, Derivatives, Settlements, Reconciliation).
- Experience of compiling data, defining, documenting control requirements and detailed procedures.
- Basic understanding of U.S. tax information reporting rules applicable to U.S. Persons and non-U.S. Persons.
- Basic understanding and working knowledge of IRS Forms W-9 and W-8 and their associated requirements; Forms 1099 and 1042-S.
- Background understanding of CRS and FATCA.
- Excellent communication skills to drive engagement and close interactions with key stakeholders.
