The role involves supporting various managers and their teams, ensuring accurate and timely execution of daily plans. It includes maintaining high-quality customer service, timely reporting, and paperwork returns. The role supports fleet management, including reporting issues, scheduling maintenance, and conducting route and time management analysis to enhance efficiency. It serves as a daily point of contact for drivers, addressing their queries and concerns, and involves developing a robust planning and management system. The role includes performance management, identifying training needs, and setting up KPIs for teams. It assists with HR issues, staff development programs, recruitment, and disciplinary matters. Regular updates to senior management, continuous improvement efforts, and maintaining high customer service standards are also key aspects. Additionally, the role requires attending meetings and undertaking other reasonable tasks.
What you'll need to succeed
The ideal candidate should have a degree in Transport & Logistics or relevant experience, along with previous management experience and team management skills. Preferred skills include strong people management, excellent organisational abilities, lateral thinking, and analytical problem-solving. Effective communication skills, both written and spoken English, are essential, as well as the ability to use initiative and work under pressure to meet deadlines.
