Our client is a family-run business with a reputation for sourcing and distributing premium-quality food. With a team of 250+employees, they pride themselves on their traditional values and global industry leadership in food processing. Our client is now looking for a permanent HR Manager to join their team and play a pivotal role in shaping the employee experience and organisational culture.
Your new role
This standalone HR position offers the opportunity to lead HR initiatives, drive employee engagement, and ensure compliance with labour laws and regulations. Weekly travel between Cork City and Bantry is a requirement of this role.
The job involves serving as the main HR contact for employees, implementing HR policies and initiatives, and ensuring consistency across company sites in Cork and Bantry. You will build relationships with managers, manage employee leave records, and handle employee relations processes. You will also oversee recruitment and onboarding, coordinate accommodation and transport for new hires, and plan events. You will conduct risk assessments, refer employees to occupational health, and participate in audits. You will also be responsible for monitoring employee working hours, collaborating with payroll, ensuring legal compliance, arranging student internships, and updating the company handbook.
What you'll need to succeed
You will have at least 5 years of experience and a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field. A Master's degree is desirable, along with additional legal qualifications. The ideal candidate must have a deep understanding of labour laws and employment regulations, excellent communication skills, and the ability to build strong relationships across all levels of the organisation. Strong organisational skills are required for this role, as is the ability to work independently and collaboratively. Proficiency in conflict management is essential.
