Your new role

In your new role as a Site Reliability Engineer you will be working as a support specialist with a decent level of java and python understanding along with, basic understanding of big data concepts. As a Site Reliability Engineer, you will be critical in ensuring our applications' reliability, scalability, and performance. In addition, you will work on complex and challenging problems, propose innovative solutions, and contribute to a dynamic and collaborative team environment. The candidate should have a passion for solving complex technical issues and ensuring the highest levels of system performance. Responsibilities:
  • The ability to develop java and spring based applications along with troubleshooting Python-based applications.
  • Create weekly/biweekly/ROD change tickets and ensure that the change management protocols and standards are thoroughly practised.
  • Interact with the Prime Finance support team in a weekly manner to monitor and react on observability insights in advance.
  • Liaise with the development team on urgent production issues to ensure minimal downtime.
  • Understand the application stack end to end to solve the emergency production issues.

What you'll need to succeed

  • You will have 6+ years of experience in an Application Support and Software Developer role.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working as a developer on Java-based applications.
  • Proficient in programming and scripting languages such as Java, Python, Bash shell scripting, and SQL.
  • Clear understanding of Data Structures and Object-Oriented Principles.
  • Must have hands-on skills in SQL and basic data warehousing concepts.
  • You must have an understanding of disaster recovery principles like RTO, RPO, and Green Zones.
  • Must have an understanding of Linux, Bash and basic scripting along with basics like Unix group, and host group and basic cryptographic understanding.
  • You must have a basic understanding of the basics of Microservice Architecture, Containerization and Orchestration.
  • Experience with observability solutions like open telemetry, Grafana, Splunk, and ELK.
  • Effective written and verbal communications, including the ability to explain technical issues in simple terms that non-DEV staff can understand.
