Senior Accounts Assistant with a construction company based in Co. Galway

Your new company

A leading building contractor with a strong presence in Ireland and the UK is actively looking for a Senior Accounts Assistant. This role will be based out of Galway; however, the company has offices nationwide. Renowned for its commitment to quality, safety, and sustainability, the company delivers high-standard construction projects across various sectors. Your new role

  • Support the Financial Controller with the day-to-day accounting operations.
  • Working with the accounts team to ensure all tasks are accurately completed.
  • Assist with month-end and quarter-end processes.
  • Assist with setting annual budgets.
  • Assist in managing and reporting business cashflow.
  • Assist in the preparation of management accounts & reports.
  • Oversee the sales & purchases ledgers and the processing of invoices.
  • Correspond with vendors and respond to any outstanding queries.
  • Liaise with other departments and managers for approval of invoices and resolve any queries.
  • Assist in the preparation of Tax returns.
  • Perform account reconciliations.
  • Assist with the annual audit.
  • Support the Accounts department with any ad hoc duties that may arise.

What you'll need to succeed
You will need a relevant third level degree or experience working as a Part Qualified Accountant is an advantage. Highly numerate with excellent analytical, organisational & problem-solving skills. Knowledge of Accounting software. Ability to maintain strict confidentiality. Ability to perform under pressure. Ability to prioritise effectively. Excellent and accurate data entry skills and time management skills. Good communication skills, both verbal and written. Good computer skills; good knowledge of Microsoft Office, and particularly Excel. Must be able to work fully on-site.
