Production support engineer required for market leading chemical manufacturer in north Dublin

Your new company

Our client is a family-owned Irish company who have been dedicated to the supply of crop protection products for over 30 years. Although their main focus is glyphosate, they also specialise in a growing range of herbicides and fungicides for the broad-acre market. The client focusses on understanding and fulfilling the needs of customers on a local and European level using the highest quality standards and dedicated service.

Your new role
To Co-ordinate service and maintenance task of the Maintenance team during scheduled maintenance, repair, and shutdown activities.
Become an influential team member and point of contact, act as technical support for operators and team leads. Oversee and coordinate Vendor works while on site acting as point of contact.
Assist with the implementation of best work practices, SOP’s work instructions and develop our internal PPM asset-based maintenance system with a real focus on reliability and reduced time.
Oversee the development, implementation and review of policies, procedures, and training to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the Machinery and reporting of same.
Lead an open input team culture which positively engages in team discussions and focused improvement sessions, identify and implement permanent and effective technical solutions to improve plant safety and reliability, reducing lost time and unavailable equipment.
Ensure all maintenance activities, calibrations and improvement projects are identified, coordinated, and executed to ensure the safe and effective operation of equipment in meeting target outputs.
Lead and work-on inhouse improvement and upgrade projects for both Manufacturing and Packaging lines and equipment.
Identify key areas for development & training for on-site equipment to ensure continuous development and knowledge sharing between Engineering and Operators.
Management of Engineering/Maintenance visual management board.
Encourage an interactive environment between maintenance and production operatives.
Act as Engineering CI lead (continuous improvement) and assign and oversee strategic improvements.
Propose and manage relevant Engineering improvements and upgrades for utilities and equipment.

What you'll need to succeed
Minimum 3-5 Years previous manufacturing / packaging environment with recognised qualifications.
Previous team lead / project management experience
Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to think creatively and analytically.
Experience in Process Safety Assist with EHS requirements relating to machine safe operation, service & maintenance Vendor management.
Experience in participating in HAZOPs and HAZIDs
Experience with Preventative Maintenance Systems Robotics and PLC programming experience (essential )
Good Verbal & written English & Knowledge and proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
