Practice Accountant role - Hybrid Working - Excellent Progression Opportunities
Your new company
Your new company is one of the pre-eminent accounting and tax advisory practices in the Galway and wider Connacht region. Established over 30 years ago, this medium-sized practice has gone from strength to strength, establishing itself as a regional leader and specialising in areas as diverse as outsourced accounting, auditing, tax and tax planning, business advisory, payroll bureau, bookkeeping services and business mediation. In addition to this, the company has expanded it's services to include company secretarial services and has also become an expert in financial services and advisory matters around liquidations, receiverships, restructuring and insolvency.
Your new role
The practice is open to all qualified accountant candidates who have a minimum of 3–5 years' experience (including training contract) within a similar medium-sized accounting firm. They have both roles for newly qualified accountants looking to progress their career under more experienced mentors and roles for Senior Practice Accountants looking to build on their experience and increase their exposure across audit, tax and accounting services. For more experienced candidates, there is the opportunity to step into an office management and team leadership position. The role is ideal for any candidate who is passionate about pursuing a career as a regional leader in practice.
What you'll need to succeed
As aforementioned, you must be a fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CPA) with a professional accreditation. You must also have a minimum of 3–5 years' experience in a similar medium-sized practice, preferably in a client-facing role. For consideration for a more senior role within the firm, they would require a minimum of 5 years' post-qualified experience in practice. Across all levels, excellent technical ability and accounting knowledge are essential, as are excellent communication skills both written and verbally. In addition, you must be able to demonstrate an ability to work on your own initiative as well as work as a key part of the team. Attention to detail is also a must.
What you'll get in return
You will get the opportunity to join one of the best local practices across all professional services in Galway and the wider Connacht region. You will gain a very competitive market salary (depending on experience) and will also gain countless opportunities to gain exposure across the accounting spectrum due to the diverse expertise and services offered by the firm from auditing, tax and bookkeeping services to more complex offerings such as liquidations, receiverships and corporate restructuring. This role could be a transformative springboard and open many avenues for the right candidate.
