Senior Field Support Engineer | Perm | €65-€75k base | South Dublin (Hybrid 1–2 days WFH per week, 1–2 days onsite with clients & 1–2 days onsite in office) | Data Consulting business

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Field Support Engineer with experience in small, medium, and enterprise computer systems. You will be responsible for the installation and ongoing support of wired and wireless network infrastructures, virtualisation technologies, and storage arrays. Ideally, you will have knowledge of network switches, firewalls, Wi-Fi, and server technologies, including virtualisation. The Senior Field Support Engineer will provide technical leadership within the business.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Install new systems onsite
  • Provide telephone support to clients
  • Conduct onsite service visits to customers
  • Train and supervise junior installation staff
  • Collaborate with other engineers to design, install, and maintain computer systems
  • Attend training programs as required
  • Seek and develop new business opportunities
  • Work closely with pre- and post-sales staff where required
Requirements:

  • Degree in Computer Science or a related field
  • Experience in small, medium, or enterprise computer systems
  • Knowledge of wired and wireless network infrastructures, virtualisation technologies, and storage arrays
  • VMware for Virtualisation experience
  • Familiarity with network switches, firewalls, Wi-Fi, and server technologies
  • Vendor accreditation for some or all of these areas is desirable.
  • Strong technical leadership and problem-solving skills
  • Full, clean driving licence required

Working Conditions:

The Senior Field Support Engineer will spend approximately 40% of their time onsite with clients and 60% in the office or working from home. The successful candidate will work closely with a team of five engineers and collaborate with pre- and post-sales staff.
