Your New Company
A leading Mechanical, Electrical and Instrumentation contractor with projects in Ireland. They are involved in projects across many sectors, such as Healthcare, Education, and Commercial.
You will join a hard-working, ambitious team, and you will benefit from a supportive culture, where your ideas and contributions will be recognised. They are now looking to recruit an Electrical Tester for a Project in Dublin.
Your New Role
- Responsible for inspecting and testing electrical systems and equipment and ensuring they comply with specifications, electrical wiring regulations and standards.
- Keep records, compile inspection and test reports for issue to the site management team.
- Reviewing and compiling test documents from specialist suppliers and subcontractors for inclusion in O&M and BCAR handover documentation.
- Advising on non-compliant installations.
- Inspecting wiring and terminations for quality and compliance.
- Writing up recommendations for improvement.
- Ensuring all test instruments have current calibration certificates and assisting in maintaining the test instrument register.
- When not carrying out testing procedures, be available to carry out electrical installation work as required by the Project Manager or Site Supervisor.
- Installation works shall include all aspects of low and extra-low voltage systems and include, but are not limited to, containment, cabling and wiring, final fixing, glanding and terminating.
What You Will Bring
- A minimum of two years’ experience in a similar position.
- National Craft Certificate.
- Qualified Certifier through a CRU accredited provider.
- Current Safe Pass Certificate.
- Current Manual Handling Certificate.
- Current Abrasive Wheels Certificate (optional but preferred)
- Thorough knowledge of the operation of company electrical test instruments.
- Knowledge of applicable electrical codes, standards, and regulations.
- Knowledge of the tools, equipment, and materials common to the electrical trade.
- Skill in the installation of all types of electrical system equipment and components.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
