Deputy Interface Manager role on high-profile project based in Co. Cork

Your new company

This company is a leading power systems operator who works at the highest levels of public works throughout Ireland. They are currently working on a large, high-profile project just outside of Cork City.


Your new role

As Deputy Interface Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the company's Engineering & Interface Manager in the co-ordination and management of a range of activities including the interface management process, systems and procedures to ensure the project is delivered on time and within budget. You will act as the single point of contact for the internal project interface coordination with regard to interface management plans, processes and associated reporting, as well as negotiate and coordinate with Works Package Managers (WPM) and Technical Leads on complicated design and physical interface issues across different project phases and the existing facilities. You will coordinate with project schedulers to ensure Interface Milestones are correctly incorporated in EPC Contractor schedules and work proactively to identify and mitigate misalignments between contractor interface milestone dates. We will look to you to develop interface reporting systems and performance indicators to track and monitor interface milestone progress. As part of your role, you will provide support to the the company's Engineering & Interface Manager in the co-ordination and management of the external consultants, internal support functions, deliverables and dependencies.


What you'll need to succeed

Successful candidates will have:
  • Relevant degree or equivalent qualification with 6+ years of relevant experience working in a regulated environment, ideally the energy sector.
  • Experience working with commercial contracts and a strong understanding of the technical, commercial and legal aspects of the contracts.
  • Experience in dealing with customers/ third parties on a contractual basis.
  • A strong track record of project management and delivery.
  • Broad understanding of the complex technical and commercial aspects of the power industry, customers and key industry stakeholders.
  • Strong communicator, able to understand and articulate technical and / or commercial concepts to non-technical audiences and business leaders.
  • Strong ability to lead, persuade and influence others to move towards a common vision or goal and to work collaboratively with and through others through developed skills of communication and diplomacy.
  • Proven track history of maintaining deadlines in a dynamic environment.
