Here at Hays we have a fantastic opportunity with our globally renowned biopharmaceutical client based in Dublin who are actively seeking an experienced Delta V DCS Automation Engineer to join their team. The client has experienced rapid growth in recent years and boasts a broad product portfolio across a variety of key therapeutic areas. This position would play a key role in operations and project-based work, allowing for access to the latest cutting edge equipment and technology to aid delivery.
The person will be responsible for ensuring a reliable and robust DeltaV DCS automation system technical design to meet business and process requirements, including integration into other systems such as OEM systems. The Automation Engineer works with other internal resources & external engineers, including manufacturing engineering, quality and the projects team.
Your new role
- Supporting the Automation Technical Leads and actively participating in the creation review and approval of the system deliverables, such as design documents.
- Creation of Automation Changes Controls and implementation on the site DCS, DeltaV.
- Regularly communicating and collaborating with the sustaining team stakeholders as well as system vendors.
- Participating in the development and implementation of the site automation strategy for the lifecycle support and optimisation of the automation systems on site.
- Support the development of site procedures.
- Actively participate in the ongoing improvement initiatives in support of operations excellence.
- Ensuring all design work is completed in compliance with all regulatory requirements.
- Support investigations.
- Provide troubleshooting and hands-on support to resolve technical issues.
- Scheduling and coordinating work to tight deadlines.
- Ensuring that equipment works to its specification.
What you'll need to succeed
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering/Computer Science, or a related engineering field or its equivalent.
- At least 5 years experience providing automation system solutions and support to manufacturing organisations in the biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry or similar is required.
- Knowledge of S88 Standard as well as GAMP software development lifecycle.
- Experience during project delivery and operations support.
- The candidate will have demonstrated proficiency in communicating and collaborating at a variety of levels, coupled with excellent organisation and planning skills.
- Ability to keep work pace and meet deadlines. Good organising and planning skills.
- Strong leadership and communication skills. Problem solver with a focus on achievement of overall project goals.
- Proven success working well in a team environment with flexibility to react to changing business needs.
- Ability to anticipate, evaluate and resolve multiple, simultaneous project issues, delays and problems by utilising technical, project management, and business expertise.
- Experience of GDP Documentation practices.
