Control Systems Engineer

Here at Hays Life Sciences, our Engineering Services Client in Cork is hiring a Control Systems Engineer to join their client site in Cork.
The ideal candidate would be responsible for maintaining control systems for various applications. This role requires a deep understanding of control theory, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work on multidisciplinary teams.

Your new role

  • Develop and implement control algorithms and strategies to optimise system performance.
  • Perform system modelling, simulation, and analysis to validate control designs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams and vendors to integrate control systems with hardware and software components.
  • Conduct testing, debugging, and troubleshooting of control systems and electrical panels to ensure reliability and performance.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, including specifications, design documents, and user manuals.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.
  • 2 years of experience in control systems engineering or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of control theory, signal processing, and system dynamics.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as MATLAB, Simulink, Python, C/C++, or similar.
  • Experience with PLCs, SCADA systems, and DCS.
