Construction and Property Assistant Manager - Construction based - Dublin

Your New Company

Your new company is seeking an Assistant Construction Manager to join the team. This client has secured a pipeline of government and local authority contracts based around Dublin and the surrounding counties. The projects would include building, refurbishing and retrofitting. The successful candidate will be responsible for proactively assisting the company director in overseeing and supervising all construction, renovation and maintenance projects. You will ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in planning and organising all projects and tasks from start to finish
  • Help prepare project schedules and budgets
  • Assist in selecting contractors and vendors to work on projects
  • Coordinate and supervise construction activities on site
  • Order and delivery of all materials to site ahead of work commencing
  • Ensure that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards
  • Monitor each job's progress and prepare progress reports for management
  • Manage project documentation and maintain accurate records
  • Communicate with stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and other team members, throughout the construction process
  • Assist in managing and resolving any issues that arise throughout each job
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations

Requirements:

  • Qualification in construction management, engineering, or a related field is desirable but not essential.
  • Previous experience in construction or a related field essential
  • Ambitious and proactive mindset
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and project management software
  • The ability to work on your own initiative is essential, while also being able to work as part of a close-knit team.
