Your new company are a leading organisation within the utilities industry. They are committed to growth, innovation and sustainability continues to be top of their agenda. They now require an internal communications Lead to join their team in Cork on a permeant basis.

Your new role

The role involves supporting the Corporate Affairs Directorate in strengthening the organization's reputation and achieving its strategic and business outcomes. This includes providing strategic communications advice, focusing efforts on target audiences and channels, and ensuring measurable outcomes. Responsibilities encompass consulting with stakeholders, providing internal communications advice, driving alignment to strategy and brand, and overseeing leadership visibility programs. The role also involves crisis management, developing communication channels and materials, and building employee communications capability. Additionally, the position requires managing relationships with third-party consultants, collaborating with internal stakeholders, and delivering integrated communications. The candidate will champion collaboration, manage demand and capacity, and ensure adherence to processes and governance. They will also implement digital communications strategies, escalate issues as needed, and support strategic project delivery. Coaching and managing direct reports, promoting health and safety, and working cross-functionally are also key aspects of the role. Some travel and out-of-hours attendance may be required.

What you'll need to succeed

The ideal candidate should have demonstrable experience working across integrated communications teams in various disciplines. While a minimum of five years' experience in the utilities, or similar regulated industries is desirable, it is not essential. A relevant third-level qualification or accreditation in communications-related disciplines, as well as technical, engineering, or environmental fields, is beneficial. The candidate must be able to develop and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders both internally and externally. They should have a proven track record of dealing with complex issues proactively and in a timely manner, along with the ability to communicate information effectively. The role requires a highly motivated and adaptable individual who works to the highest professional standards and has a proven ability to deliver results within an agile team.
