Hays has been retained to recruit a Civil/Structural Design Engineer for our client, a leading Engineering Consultancy who have an office based in Cork.

Your new role

This role involves working within this client's design team to work on both residential and commercial projects. Responsibilities include:

Civil / structural engineering design of residential and commercial developments.
The production of drawings, reports, calculations, and structural specifications.
Supervision of construction projects.
Management and co-ordination of BCAR Activities.
Site inspections.
Preparation of tender documentation and construction drawings.
Co-ordination of tender packages for residential and commercial projects.

What you'll need to succeed

Hold a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Civil/Structural Engineering.
Applicants should be enthusiastic in achieving Chartered status.
At least 4–7 years’ experience in an engineering consultancy and have experience on both residential and commercial projects.
The candidate should be proficient in Design Software, Microsoft Office, Project, and AutoCAD.
Strong interpersonal / people skills.
Excellent technical knowledge.
Strong knowledge of current Irish Building Regulations.
Ability to work well within strict deadlines.
The ability to lead the design of small and large-scale projects.
Have an ability to modify / improve existing designs to facilitate ease of construction.
Have a flexible approach to work and an ability to prioritise and manage time effectively.
Manage multi-projects whilst ensuring all deadlines are met.
Have excellent communication skills, interpersonal skills, and the ability to work as part of the team.
