Civil/Structural Engineer

JODA Engineering Consultants is partnering with Hays Recruitment to hire a Civil/Structural Engineer for their office in Cork City. The successful applicant will join a progressive company where they will get the opportunity to develop their skills with mentorship, with a view for career progression to Chartered status and management.

Projects vary in scale from small to large multi-million-pound projects and in a variety of sectors, including Industrial, Retail, Hotel and Leisure, Commercial and Offices, Residential, Medical and Educational, with no two projects being the same.

The ideal candidate will already have some experience working as a Civil/Structural Engineer, with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role, who is looking to grow and be mentored by a Chartered Engineer and an experienced and diverse team.

The role

As an employee of the our company, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of construction and engineering. Below is a glimpse of what you will be responsible for:

• Working on a number of various projects ranging in size and value from beginning to completion.
• Site Visits.
• Managing Project Budgets.
• Liaise with suppliers regarding technical matters.
• Technical presentations.
• Ensuring compliance with Eurocodes standards.
• Production of detailed documentation.
• Working as part of the Civil/Structural team.
• Ability to take responsibility for leading all elements of projects.

The person

• Experience with an Irish-based consultancy.
• Minimum 2 years' experience in Civil/Structural Engineering.
• Third level qualification.
• Based in Cork.
• Fluent English essential.
• Experience with AutoCAD/Revit an advantage but not essential.
• Good communication skills.
• Understanding of engineering principles and construction.
• Confident and ambitious, with the willingness to progress on a long-term basis.
