Civil Manager - Data Centre Work - European Role - Strong Financial Package
Your new company
Your new organisation is a large, specialised, tier one main building contractor who specialise in mission-critical projects across Ireland and Europe.
They deliver Turnkey Data Centre Solutions, providing services from design, through to construction, across the full range of civil, structural, architectural, mechanical and electrical services, as well as commissioning. They currently operate across seven different European countries.
Your new role
Your new role is to be based in Sweden as a Civil Manager. The site team have just commenced breaking ground for their data centre project.
Below is some of the following duties on site.- Manage the co-ordination of the Civil work packages on this hyperscale project.
- Manage a project team of 20+ including, package managers, design managers, engineers and site supervisors.
- Support your team in managing 10+ subcontractors with a combined package value in excess of €100m.
- Oversee contractor’s design elements of the project, ensuring design is carried out and relevant approvals in place ahead of construction on-site.
- Ensure BIM processes are followed by subcontractors carrying out works under your supervision.
- Management of Site Safety in conjunction with safety personnel (including set-up, management and close out).
- Management of Site QA in conjunction the Projects team.
- Management of Project Schedule in conjunction with Planner, Project Managers, Sub-Contractors and consulting Engineers/Architects to ensure client requirements are adhered to.
- Support the tracking of project costs with the support of the project QS’s.
- Manage all day to day site operations and documentation.
- Management of sub-contractor activities including tracking progress against schedule and manpower levels. Carry out sub-contractor meetings.
- Attend Site Meetings, Internal Project Reviews, Engineering Reviews, Planning and Co-ordination Meetings as well as Handover Meetings.
- Support close out functions of all project items including Final Account, Punch List, Safety & QA Files, Material and Plant re-locations, Project Plan.
- Hold weekly commercial meetings with the commercial team to ensure all variations are been captured and processed.
- Ensure change management is handled in accordance with Winthrop processes (Cost & Programme).
- Carry out distribute & close out CSA snags
- Report directly to the CSA Lead
What you'll need to succeed
- Bachelor’s degree in Civils Engineering or similar preferred
- At least 5 years of experience working with a civil or building contractor.
- Previous experience delivering projects from concept to handover.
- Experience in scheduling, programming, managing subcontractors and sequencing.
- Experience of effectively managing teams is essential.
- Data centre experience is advantageous but not necessary.
- Experience in the delivery of large-scale projects is sought after,

In return for the above, you will work for a leading main contractor that has a pipeline of work in Europe and Ireland for at least the next 5 years.
You will work on a large data centre project from commencement and be involved throughout the entire process.You will be rewarded with a strong financial package which includes all costs, accommodation and allowances.
The salary for this role is individually depending. It ranges from €75,000 - €100,000.
This salary is predominantly earnings that are saved due to daily allowances, helping with your spending.
Your fights and connecting travel will be covered.
You will be given a one-bedroom, furnished apartment in Helsinki.
You will receive €250 per week food allowance.
You will benefit from relevant tax schemes in place.
You will work on a rotation of 17 days on and 4 days off.
You will have the chance for further progression and reviews in the months ahead for increaes.
