Hays has been retained to recruit a Civil Design Engineer to work on the design of both MV and HV grid connections based in the renewables sector and for large demand customers. This role is based on a large engineering consultancy who has been engaged in work in Ireland for over 50 years.

Your new role

This role involves the design and construction of grid connections for wind and solar projects, and other linear construction projects such as water/wastewater, gas and telecoms.

Duties Include:
Undertake design elements for projects to current specifications and standards.
Manage the production of drawings and reports.
Co-ordinate work with engineers of other disciplines.
Attend meetings with clients, other consultants and contractors during the course of projects.
Ensure production of deliverables to agreed timelines.

What you'll need to succeed

Candidates with experience from 2 years and upwards will be considered.
Enthusiastic team player, with a constructive and proactive approach to work.
Excellent communication, planning and organisation skills.
Strong problem-solving capabilities with a willingness to accept responsibility and meet strict deadlines.
Full driving licence and access to a vehicle.
Strong technical report writing skills.
The ability to process large datasets using coding such as Matlab or similar would be beneficial.
