Job Description:
  • Conduct pre-shift vehicle H&S checks before departure from the depot.
  • Load vehicles according to client company procedures – Bulk or Cylinder.
  • Deliver LPG following company procedures on a single or multi-drop basis to households, factories, farms, hotels, and restaurants using the client/customer vehicle fleet equipped with digital logistic systems.
  • Maintain excellent knowledge of LPG, its properties, and associated dangers.
  • Wash, refuel, and check the vehicle fleet.
  • Keep the vehicle, including the cab interior, clean.
  • Report accidents or incidents to the depot immediately and note any unsafe or dangerous sites.
  • Complete all Near Miss reporting as required.
  • Produce a licence for periodic inspection and report any adjustments immediately.
  • Adhere to the legal requirements of Tacho Driver Hours and be familiar with tachograph regulations regarding driving times and breaks. Daily download of digital tachograph card required.
  • Maintain and process daily paperwork, submitting it at the end of the shift.
  • Follow the procedures as outlined in the driver’s manual and training manual.
  • Assist with training other drivers as needed.
  • Work on a flexible schedule with possible after-hours emergency calls.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively.
  • Provide excellent customer service.
  • Complete minor yard duties as required.
  • Fully cooperate and adhere to all health and safety processes and procedures at all times.
  • Undertake training in new processes, equipment, and technology for continuous development.
  • Perform basic LPG tank inspections and other duties related to tank compliance.
Requirements:
  • Hold a clean HGV driving licence appropriate to the size of the vehicle (rigid).
  • ADR Certificate in bulk gases and packages.
  • Up-to-date CPC.
  • In-date Tachograph.
  • Clean driving record essential, with proof available if requested.
  • Essential health and safety awareness and knowledge.
  • Safety-conscious in driving and handling LPG, including wearing protective clothing and equipment and using manual handling techniques.
  • Familiarity with tachograph regulations regarding driving times and breaks.
  • Flexibility and availability for early and late start times (e.g., early starts from 5:00 hrs and late starts from 14:00 hrs).
  • Flexible, positive, can-do attitude to meet customer demands.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Professional manner in all communications and interactions with colleagues, managers, other employees, customers, the public, and other road users.
  • Reliable, punctual, and hardworking – key requirements for the position.
  • Willingness to embrace change and new technologies.
  • Knowledge of mechanics is advantageous.
  • Experience in digital logistics is an advantage.
  • Good geographical knowledge of Northern and/or Southern Ireland.
  • LPG knowledge.
  • Previous relevant driving experience, with gas/fuel experience being an advantage.
  • Customer-focused with a proven track record of positive and professional interactions.
