Senior Human Resources Manager | Public Sector - Grade VII €81,444-€98,231 DOE | 12 Month FTC | Dublin North

Your new company

As Senior Human Resources Manager, you will join a public sector organisation that provides individualised care to young defenders. Your new office is located in North Dublin and requires you to join their team on a 12-month basis with the possibility of extension. Your new role offers a grade VIII salary scale which ranges from €81,444 to €98,231 per annum. Your new company offers hybrid working.

Your new role

As Senior Human Resources Manager, your duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Play a key leadership role to evolve the HR strategy in line with the Strategic Plan 2022-2026.
  • Lead the development and implementation of key HR initiatives, including HR strategy, workforce planning, recruitment, HR operations etc.,
  • Provide expert input to organisation design and development initiative
  • Develop Learning and Development plan
  • Own the delivery of HR policies and practices aligned to comply with Public Sector requirements and employment legislation
  • Own the delivery of performance management, mentoring and professional support to the management team
  • Advise the senior team and support colleagues on Human Resources and Industrial Relations
  • Ensure management and co-ordination of all people activities, including recruitment and selection, training and development, employee relations, equality and diversity.
  • Maintain ongoing communication with trade unions at national and local level (formal & informal)
  • Develop and maintain a highly motivated human resources team capable of meeting the growing needs of service
  • Ensure best practice recruitment and selection policy compliance across all functions.
  • Oversee the development of a framework that identifies employees that can be developed in each function to take increased responsibility.
  • Ensuring a pipeline of employees that will support effective succession planning
  • Manage performance to ensure meaningful links between individuals and organisational strategy and goals and optimise workforce controls.
  • Support the development and lead the performance management framework, delivered in partnership with local line management.
  • Support the introduction of a high-performance culture, incentivised by people-centric practices.
  • Lead the development of people management skills.
  • Prepare the annual People Budget for presentation to the Director and Board.
  • Lead tactical initiatives in the area of workforce controls and attendance management.
  • Ensure compliance with legislation and statutory requirements.
  • Keep abreast of relevant policy and legislative developments nationally and internationally which impact on the work of the service
  • Benchmark against best practice standards, review and audit regularly, and change areas as required when new evidence becomes available.
  • All general administrative and ad-hoc duties that fall into your new role.

What you'll need to succeed

To become Senior Human Resources Manager, you will have recent relevant experience along with a degree or equivalent in human resources. Previous experience working in the public sector is desirable. Strong communication, interpersonal and written skills are essential as you will be communicating with a diverse range of individuals and stakeholders. A keen eye for detail and multitasking is essential to meet tight deadlines. Excellent strategic and analytical skills are required.
