Your new company

The client is engaged in all areas of infrastructure maintenance on a global scale. As part of an international organisation, they focus primarily on the distribution of bitumen products, the manufacturing of emulsions and emulsifiers, and providing specialised road maintenance services at national, regional, and local levels. Within Ireland, the client operates from 14 locations spread across the island.


Your new role

Collaborating closely with managers under the guidance of the Head of Procurement. Responsible for procuring materials, equipment, subcontracts, and services across all business units, either on a spot basis or through existing and new framework agreements. Supporting the creation and implementation of strategic procurement solutions aimed at optimising processes, fostering innovation, and reducing carbon emissions. Ensuring all procurement activities adhere to governance and procedural compliance. Working in collaboration with the procurement network of the broader Group, covering operations in Ireland, the UK, and the EMEA (Europe, Middle East & Africa) region.

  • Procure materials, equipment, subcontracts, and service framework requirements across all business units and specific projects.
  • Optimise the use of existing and new framework agreements for the client's benefit.
  • Develop and implement strategic procurement solutions to support bidding opportunities, projects, and operational businesses.
  • Ensure compliance with the client's governance and procurement processes and procedures.
  • Collaborate with the wider Group's procurement network in the UK and Europe.
  • Deliver procurement tenders on time, meeting all requirements and staying within budget.
  • Leverage the broader Group's procurement organisation and international sourcing capabilities.
  • Review and approve procurement requests from COUPA.
  • Lead specific procurement categories, overseeing strategic development, implementation, and supplier relationship management.
  • Implement current framework agreements and propose additional ones.
  • Source low-carbon solutions and oversee their testing and implementation on-site.
  • Comply with all policies, including ethical guidelines.

What you'll need to succeed


  • Experience in a similar role

  • Relevant academics, such as a bachelor’s degree and/or professional qualifications in procurement / supply chain management, such as CIPS.

  • Proven experience as a buyer or senior buyer in a similar role.

  • Familiarity with Procurement ERP systems (e.g., COUPA, SAP, Oracle, etc.).

  • Excellent negotiation and contract management skills.

  • Strong organisational and time management skills to prioritise tasks effectively.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Power Bi, etc.).

  • Driving licence.
