Senior/Principal Water Resources Expert role with multinational Engineering Consultancy

Your new company

Your new company is one of the world's leading providers of engineering professional consulting and support services with offices throughout Ireland. They are seeking a Senior/Principal Water Resource Management Expert to provide consultancy advice to a range of clients on water projects and schemes, and to address general water resources use and management issues throughout Ireland.


Your new role

This position is based within the Water and Environmental Management Consultancy division, reporting to the division lead within Ireland. You will also be liaising with colleagues in the UK to assist with UK-based projects.

Duties Include:
  • Work closely with semi-state water management plans to support the 25-year National Water Resources Plan.
  • Work with private sector clients in the delivery of sustainable water resources planning and management.
  • Support newly established project providing water from the west of Ireland to more densely populated central and eastern areas of Ireland.
  • Calculating various factors involved with supply and demand of water.
  • Creating demand forecasts to ensure correct measures are taken to ensure no issues with supply.
  • Forecasting for uncertainty and risk.
  • Demonstrate technical leadership in aspects of water resources.


What you'll need to succeed

  • Educated to at least degree level (Level 8/9).
  • 10 years’ relevant work experience, at least some of which will be in a consultancy environment.
  • Chartered Scientist, Environmentalist or Ecologist.
  • Experience of undertaking business development and client engagement.
  • Experience of proposal and tender writing and winning and delivering won work.
  • Full Irish / EU driving licence.
  • Must be an excellent communicator.
  • Must be able to deal confidently with clients, staff reports and senior managers.
  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
  • A high level of personal integrity and commitment to upholding company values.
  • Flexible approach with ability to multi-task and prioritise.
  • Positive outlook and approachable manner.
  • Highly motivated to achieve personal and organisational goals.
  • Comfortable working in a team or individually as required.
