Financial Accountant - Insurance Industry (Dublin west) - €70k - Hybrid working

Your new company

Our client is a leading organisation in the Insurance and Financial Service industry. With over 400 employees across Ireland, the company is going through a rapid growth phase at the moment, acquiring new organisations and expanding their finance team. Their finance team has grown by 1/3rd in the last year and is now expanding further. They are now hiring an experienced Financial Accountant to join the team.

Your new role

Reporting to the GL Manager and sitting in a team of 11, you will also work closely with senior leaders including the CFO. As they acquire new business, you will get involved in the new entities to get them ready to be integrated into the group organisation. Duties include:
  • Maintaining and reconciling the company trial balance.
  • Assist with the external audit including preparation of audit schedules / supporting documentation and dealing with any queries.
  • Assist with the preparation of the annual budget including the monitoring of actuals vs budget and explaining the key variances.
  • Assist with maintaining the cash flow forecast and responsibility for ensuring accuracy of bank reconciliations.
  • Support the efficient running of both the finance department and the company by identifying possible process improvements and either assisting or leading projects to help drive efficiencies
  • Assist in managing the accounts payable function with responsibility for supervising the invoice posting and ensuring accuracy of coding. Identify opportunities for cost reductions by completing periodic supplier reviews as necessary.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CPA)
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in an industry based finance role with a broad knowledge of accounts preparation, tax and audit.
  • Experience from a small-medium sized practice will be considered if you have experience with accounts prep.
  • Experience in Financial Service or Insurance would be a plus.
  • Must have full working rights in Ireland.
